November 3rd, 2010What an incredible month it has been. I started off October with a weekend sewing retreat conducted by Leslie Fehling at her breathtaking home in Prosperity Pennsylvania. Six of us were lucky enough to participate in one of Leslie’s last classes (let’s hope she changes her mind) on high end embellishment techniques. As I practice these techniques here in my studio and I’ll post the results. Here is a photo of one of my favorites. Celtic Bias Applique. We used silk bias strips to create intricate weaving patterns. The trick to this technique is to alternate weaving over and under each bias strip. I plan to craft this into a pillow.
